Company visit Fancom in Panningen

Yesterday (May 6, 2026), Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide had the pleasure of visiting Fancom in Panningen.

For decades, Fancom has been an internationally leading player in innovative automation and climate control systems for livestock farming. The company demonstrates how technological innovation can contribute to a sustainable and future-proof sector.

Thank you to the Fancom team for their warm hospitality, the guided tour, and the open exchange on the developments and challenges facing the sector.

Special thanks as well to Anita Hoofs from Wageningen University & Research for her engaging presentation on curly tails and the challenges and opportunities currently facing the pig sector. Her insights highlighted the importance of collaboration between industry, research, and practice in developing innovative solutions that connect animal welfare, sustainability, and economic viability.

Valuable discussions and meaningful insights on how collaboration and knowledge sharing contribute to building a future-proof pig sector.

Company visit Schothorst Feed Research in Lelystad

Our first Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide meeting of the year took place at Schothorst Feed Research (SFR) in Lelystad.

We were warmly welcomed by Sales Manager Wim Beeks, who gave us an inspiring inside look into SFR’s activities in the Netherlands, across Europe, and worldwide.

As an independent research and knowledge center for animal nutrition, SFR plays a key role in supporting feed manufacturers and livestock producers by translating scientific knowledge into practical solutions under diverse conditions worldwide.

Through Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide, we represent suppliers across the entire pig production chain and strengthen international cooperation by sharing knowledge, networks, and experiences. This meeting once again provided valuable insights and great opportunities for networking and future collaboration.

Internal employees event at World Horti Center in Naaldwijk

Last week (November 27), Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide (DAW) visited the World Horti Center in Naaldwijk, where we enjoyed an inspiring day.

This internal employee event focused on knowledge exchange and networking, and gave us the opportunity to learn more about Dutch greenhouse horticulture.

Our Dutch partners were given an extensive insight into the innovations that are putting Dutch greenhouse horticulture on the map worldwide. From high-tech cultivation solutions and energy savings to circular concepts and digitization: the presentation and tour showed how the horticultural sector continues to innovate and how these innovations and mutual collaborations can also be valuable for other agricultural chains — including pig farming.

The discussions with experts, the tour of the innovation center, and the open exchange of ideas gave us, as DAW partners, new inspiration to further strengthen cooperation within our network. It was great to see how partners took away new perspectives, with concrete starting points for future-oriented projects worldwide.

We look back on a valuable day full of connection, deepening, and fresh ideas.
The open discussions, shared experiences, and new insights reaffirm the power of collaboration within the DAW network.

Fieldvisit TripleAir Virus Filtration in Emmen

Last week (September 10th), TripleAir BV Virus Air Filtration in Emmen hosted our regular Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide meeting.
Nicolette Smits (owner) and Gilles van der Lans (independent consultant) gave us a glimpse behind the scenes at TripleAir.

Gilles gave a presentation on the importance of protecting barns against airborne viruses. TripleAir Virus Air Filtration offers specialized filters for pig farmers worldwide who want to protect their barns against viruses such as PRRS and Mycoplasma. They have been achieving excellent results in this area for many years with filters that are developed and produced entirely in-house. A tour of the production facility allowed us to experience the importance of high quality and precision (without leaks) for achieving optimal results.

It was another informative meeting, and it also provided an opportunity to network, get to know each other and the participating DAW companies even better, and explore potential opportunities for collaboration.

Field visit Kanters Special Products in Lieshout

This week (May 7), we were guests of all DAW partner companies at Kanters Special Products in Lieshout for our second meeting this year. Here, Rogier van Sambeek gave us a look behind the scenes at Kanters special products.

Rogier showed us how important the use of clean water is in animal production. At Kanters they focus on water hygiene, water management and liquid nutritional supplements (also called animal supplements).

Water is the perfect medium to support animal health because animals continue to drink at least twice as much as they eat when challenging conditions arise.

When animals are healthy and living in optimal conditions, they perform better and this has a direct impact on a healthy business performance. It gives  more work convenience and pleasure and the sustainable solutions significantly reduce the use of antibiotics.

 

With the efforts of Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide, we represent suppliers in the entire pig chain and we want to collaborate and join forces by sharing experiences, networks and successes. In this way, international relations of Dutch Agro Partners can optimally get to know the Dutch livestock sector.

It was another educational meeting and also the opportunity to network and get to know each other and the participating DAW companies even better and to find opportunities for collaboration.

Field visit Hato Agricultural Lighting in Sittard

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, we travelled to beautiful Limburg with all DAW partner companies. We were guests for our regular meeting at HATO Agricultural Lighting in Sittard, where Nikki Verheijden-Boumans gave us more insight into the company’s activities.

Nikki enthusiastically and expertly demonstrated the different types and qualities of barn lighting, which was eye-opening to the impact of sufficient good lighting in the right place.

Hato makes professional lighting plans when designing a new barn or renovating and adapting an already existing barn.

Furthermore, we welcomed four new participants who joined Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide as of January 1, 2025. Interesting introductions of their companies by Rogier Van Sambeek of Kanters Special Products, Sven van Genugten of Genugten Agri, Jo Heusschen of Schils BV and Eric Langens of Van Osch b.v.

The Netherlands is known as the best agricultural sector in the world. It has an excellent reputation for knowledge, quality, and innovation. In addition, the Netherlands is seen as a very reliable partner. Deal = Deal. Therefore, international companies like to work with Dutch suppliers.

With the efforts of Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide, we represent suppliers in the entire pig chain. We want to cooperate and join forces by sharing experiences, networks, and successes. This way, the international relations of Dutch Agro Partners can optimally get acquainted with the Dutch livestock sector.

Field visit Wageningen University, One Planet Research centre and StartLife

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, we were guests of Wageningen Livestock Research with all DAW partner companies. Ruud Duijghuisen and Bennie Van Der Fels guided us through Wageningen University’s activities.

At the same time, we were given a campus tour, including the OnePlanet Research Centre and StartLife.

Within OnePlanet, innovations are developed to make the world healthier and more sustainable for everyone. They work specifically with partners from industry, SMEs and knowledge institutions.

StartLife enables founders to build and grow Food & Agritech startups with lasting impact. In 2010, StartLife was founded to build, support and fund startups that are propelling breakthrough technologies in the fields of Food & Agriculture and creating a lasting impact.

Field visit VDL Agrotech – Start-up Spectrik

On Wednesday 22 May 2024, we were guests of VDL Agrotech in Eindhoven. Niels Geraerts provided a fascinating presentation and a tour of VDL Agrotech B.V.’s facilities. At the same time, we got a futuristic glimpse of VDL’s various activities.

Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide is a unique organisation of suppliers pooling expertise and sharing knowledge. It also provides a stage for start-ups to expand their network and validate ideas.

Start-up tech company Spectrik was a guest at this inspiring and productive meeting of Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide.
Rick Jongen and Ad Crommentuijn MSc BSc, presented an innovative ammonia sensor. The technology, based on integrated photonics, promises less calibration and a longer lifetime of a multi-gas sensor for agriculture/livestock. In doing so, it enables targeted emission reduction solutions for a sustainable and environmentally friendly food chain.

It was a meeting full of insights and forward-looking plans.

Field visit Royal GD – Agrisyst

Last week (January 24th), we were guests of our Dutch partner Royal GD in Deventer.

Presentations by Dutch partners Royal GD and AgriSyst – from data to returns were on the programme.

Wim Kieftenbeld (Royal GD) gave insight into their (inter)national activities.
Every day, Royal GD works with great passion and experience to optimise monitoring, maintaining and increasing animal health. With all the techniques and possibilities, further developments are also being put into practice, for example, in certain areas, bringing the lab to the farm (via veterinarians) instead of samples to the lab. This gives many advantages; there is no need to transport samples, and results are available more quickly, which can be acted upon more quickly.

A very interesting presentation followed by a tour of the impressive laboratory.

Twan van Dijk (Agrisyst) took us into the world of data collection, exchange and processing.
With a film, he gave a glimpse of the possibilities of the future. With all available techniques, it will be possible to collect, exchange and process extensive and more specific data into useful analyses in an even more targeted way. With this, faster and better decisions can be made to optimise and improve results.

Furthermore, a welcome to 3 new companies joining Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide: Fancom BV, Veldman Group and Schothorst Feed Research.

First Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide employee event

On November 30, 2023, Dutch Agribusiness Worldwide successfully organized its first employee event in the Philips Stadium Eindhoven.

Employees of affiliated companies and some aspiring companies could become acquainted with the consortium in this way and two speakers provided inspiration, new ideas and possibilities and certainly provided discussion material during dinner and drinks.

Cees Admiraal (Business Development Director High Tech Campus Eindhoven) took us into the world of high tech and collaboration in the Brainport region. Including young, innovative startups in the positioning of the Dutch Agro sector globally is an eye-opener.

Martijn Homan (coordinator of the agricultural attaché network of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) provided an overview of the activities of agricultural posts in 80 countries worldwide and what they can do for the Dutch agricultural sector.
